Our cottage is located in the Western North Carolina mountains about one hour from Asheville, 2 1/2 hours from Charlotte and Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. Get out of the heat and enjoy the clean mountain air! This is a great place to hold a family get together, reunion, girls retreat, etc. We own both Mt. Mitchell I and Mt. Mitchell II, the two cottages are side by side, so if more than one family or group want to plan a vacation together, there are two cottages available.
Why not get out of the heat and enjoy the clean mountain air! Just bring your groceries and a toothbrush!
Our cozy 950 sq ft cottage has great appeal. Mt. Mitchell II has central AC/Heat and has been completely upgraded with hardwood floors, beautiful furnishings and appointments. The kitchen has new cabinets, granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. Each bedroom has private baths with access via patio doors to the huge deck where you can watch for deer, bears, butterflies, turkeys, birds and other wildlife. The Master bedroom has a King bed with beautiful private views of the mountains and an updated bathroom with tiled walk -in shower. The second bedroom has a Queen bed with the same views and also a beautiful bathroom with tiled walk- in shower.
There is a full size washer and dryer. Enjoy your coffee on the front porch or back deck watching the wildlife and birds. The living room/dining area has a gas log fireplace and cable TV. Complimentary Wi-Fi and free long distance on the cottage telephone.
There is a gas grill on the front deck for your grilling expertise!
Our cottage is located in beautiful Alpine Village Resort - where you can enjoy convenient access to the Clubhouse, swimming pool, fire pit and shuffle board court. The salt water heated swimming pool is open between Memorial Day and Labor Day - weather permitting. You will enjoy the quiet solitude as we are surrounded by the Pisgah National Forest.
Visit Asheville and surrounding quaint mountain towns like Burnsville, Little Switzerland, Spruce Pine, Marion, Black Mountain and Blowing Rock. Go horse back riding, pottery shops, fishing, golf, go Gem Mining, visit arts and crafts studios, enjoy mountain music, visit wineries or craft beer establishments plus many other mountain venues.
Mt. Mitchell State Park is 30 minutes away and you are only 3 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. The trail head starts behind the Clubhouse and goes to the top of Mt. Mitchell a 3400 elevation change. Mt. Mitchell State Park is the highest peak East of the Mississippi River. There are many hiking trails in the area, some including waterfalls. Visit The Biltmore in Asheville.

By the very booking of this listing, you acknowledge and agree to hold harmless the property owner, property representative or property owner's heirs in perpetuity from the result of any injury, death or incident of any kind by an fault, act or behavior of person or persons and guests thereof lodging or non-guest(s) at this property as a result of this offering or not a result of this offering, including but not limited to acts of God and/or nature.
